property destruction = ?

stumbled upon this abandoned house/garage on a little side street near my office. it wasn't just a dump, though- it had a message.
it communicated something.
it had a story- and, i wanted to know it.

at first i thought it said "property destruction = death" -but, now i'm not so sure what it says.
i felt a heaviness and weight of the message. it was part of the story.

still wonder.

our side of the mountains

My new favorite book: My Side of the Mountain
I think if I could live in the woods and live well....I would. I love being outside. I love the woods. I love nature. It astounds me every time.
So, New Year's weekend in the Smokies? -completely wonderful. perfection.

Here is a glimpse of the beauty, and the wonders that struck me on our side of the mountains:

wide open spaces
texture
color
an indescribable airy feel
streams
reflections
beauty
discovery

these are a result of a visit to the cliff walk today.

if you refer back to the "baby girl pink" post, you will notice that esther's eyes are the exact same color as the ocean.
so beautiful.

crazy branches-

flashback to "rhode island red"-

a sampling of the mansions-

still in rhode island.
still in love with new england in the fall.

ps. rhode island red and shadow craziness

Current location: Newport, RI (visiting sweet baby esther...and her parents)
-this place is straight out of a movie. I may never leave.

(crazy cool shadows on neighbor's house)-

baby girl pink

Somehow I managed to get the two most adorable nieces in the entire universe. Not sure how that happened to me...

brick red

there's something about old red brick...
it has a history.
it has a story. well, lots of stories.
it's strong. but, wearing down.
there's character.

these were taken as I was running out the door from a friend's apartment building in nashville...

apartment envy? talk about an understatement!
